Dr. Cathy Craven is the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute/ University of Toronto Chair in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Rehabilitation, Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto, Medical Director of the Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Program and Senior Scientist at KITE Research Institute within the University Health Network. She has clinical and research expertise in the prevention and management of osteoporosis and health service innovation for individuals living with spinal cord injury. Dr. Craven is Panel Chair for the 2021 PVA Consortium’s Bone Health and Osteoporosis Management Clinical Practice Guideline. She is Chair of the Canadian SCI - Rehabilitation Association (www.cscira.org) and Co-leads the Ontario SCI Implementation and Evaluation Quality Care Consortium (www.sciconsortium.ca). Dr. Craven has participated as a panelist in forming the ISCD position statement on bone density testing after SCI and in the creation of the OTA Delphi Consensus Process Regarding Fracture Management after SCI. She is the Co-Primary Investigator for the Can-SCIP guidelines (https://kite-uhn.com/can-scip). She has co-chaired the 1-9th National SCI Conference in Canada, and is a Member of the Osteoporosis Canada Scientific Advisory Board. She has published over 200 articles on related topics and obtained 23M dollars in research funding as a primary investigator. A 2019 bibliometric analysis of global SCI rehabilitation research in the last two decades from 1997-2016, ranked Dr Craven as number seven globally, the sole Canadian on the list.i
